Commentary on the Unites States Constitution Article 1 Section 5


This section deals with the membership, rules, journals, and adjournment. It gives each House the authority to judge their elections, returns and member qualifications.

It establishes a majority of members of each house has to do present to conduct and business other than adjourning for the day. A minority can also be allowed to compel absent members to attend meetings by appropriate penalties.

The House and Senate are allowed to set there own rules and punish members as needed up to expelling a member by a 2/3 vote. They are also required to keep a record of their, meetings that has to be publish with the exception of parts that more than 4/5 those members present are deemed should remain secret. This was allowed because national security some times requires secrecy.

Both the House and Senate need each others consent to adjourn for more than three days, or to a place other than there normal meeting place.

This system has been proven to generally work well but it has from time to time been abused, For example Obama Care was passed through the House of representatives by way by passing all normal procedures to pass the senate version it would have failed to pass the senate again following a special election to fill a vacancy,

Commentary on the Unites States Constitution Article 1 Section 4


This places the details electing Senators and Representatives in the hands of the states such as timing and place of elections. However it gives congress the authority to set uniform rules for their elections.

It also sets the first day of congresses session as the first Monday in December but this was change to the 3rd of January by Section 2 of the 20th Amendment.

While this section is short it is important for setting the rules and timing of elections. While it is a relatively minor section it is important to the proper functioning of elections in the United State.

Commentary on the Unites States Constitution Article 1 Section 3


This part of the constitution establishes the U.S Senate. In this part of the legislature the states all have equal representation. As representatives of states Stators originally elected by the state legislatures but it was changed to being elected by the people of the state by the 17th Amendment. This actually seems to have been a mistake since it has left the states with out actual representation and has done great damage to federalism.

The Vice President serves as President of the Senate, but only votes in the case of a tie vote in the senate. This was done mainly to give the Vice President something to do other than sitting around waiting for the president to die.

The senate also has the duty of trying impeachments made by the house. This process was seen in action for the first time when President Clinton was tried after being impeached on perjury charges by the house. We also saw partisanship at its worst as every democratic Senator went in to the trial already determined not to vote to convict. The fact that some demarcates were needed to get the 2/3 majority required by this section to convict prevented

Commentary on the Unites States Constitution Article 1 Section 2


This section establishes the U.S. House of Representatives. It establishes representation in the House of Representatives based on the population of each state. The purpose of this is so that each American is equally represented in this body.

It establishes that a census should be taken every ten years to count the population. This brings up the increasingly intrusive questions that come with the census, Note that all that the only question they are empowered to ask is the number of people living in a home. Not one other question is authorized while unwarranted searches are forbidden. In the past two censuses (2000 and 2010) the only answer they got from my family is the number people living in the house and that is all they have any right to know.

There is also a myth about this section that claims that blacks were only counted as three fifths a person. This myth is almost as old as the Constitution but it is totally false. Yes it only counted as three fifths of slaves but there was no racial component to it since all free blacks would be counted.  The reality is that this was actually an anti slavery measure.

Anti-slavery delegates to the constitutional convention did not want any slave counted because the salve population would have given most of the representatives in the house to slave holding states making it impossible to ever abolish slavery. The slave holding slave holding states wanted all of the slaves counted precisely so as to have increased representation in congress. The three fifths compromise was the solution to this problem and it benefited the anti-slavery side.

Commentary on the Unites States Constitution –Article 1 Section 1


This section give the exclusive power to make laws to a bicameral Congress of the United States, The congress consists of the Senate and the House of Representatives.

Note the law making power of the United States is bested in congress not the president and not the courts. Sadly congress has from time to time passed laws that given discretionary regulatory power to the president on various issues and they have refused to rain in judges that legislate from the bench.

Congress could reign in both judicial and presidential power grabs by way of impeachment but never have.  As the law making branch the other two can do nothing with out their consent.

Commentary on the Unites States Constitution - Preamble

The preamble to the Unites States Constitution is the Constitution’s introduction and  while purely introductory it shows a lot about the intent of the founding fathers.

They wanted to establish Justice for all which you don’t get form the arbitrary informant with see in the modern federal bureaucracy. 

They wanted to insure domestic Tranquility which is not accomplished by efforts to drive a wedge through society based income for political gain rather than encourage economic conditions that allow people to increase their income.

They wanted to provide for the common defense which the Government is failing to do by letting milling of illegal immigrants enter the country unchecked while not dealing properly with treats from abroad.  For example the failure to realize the Islam is the source of the theorist problem and not just a few crazies.

They wanted to promote the general Welfare but Obama is failing to do by running the national debt at an unprecedented rate while burdening job creators with harmful regulation,

They wanted to secure the Blessings of Liberty for all Americans which Obama and three democrats hostilely attacked by passing an unconstitutional individual mandate of Obama Care which nothing short of declaring every American a slave of  the Federal government by declaring the authority to exercise total control the fruits of labor, because if they can mandate that you buy one product by extension they can mandate how you spend every dime you make and  there by effectively taking all of the fruits of our labor which is by definition slavery.

Commentary on the Unites States Constitution

The Unites States Constitution was ratified by the 13 original states in 1788 and it establish the federal Government. It is the supreme law of the land such that every law, regulation and treaty made by the Federal Government must be consistent with it. If it does not the act is null and void as though it never existed. If a state law, regulation or other action violates those sections of the U.S. Constitution that apply to the stares it is likewise null and void.

If the U.S. Constitution strictly adhered to the Federal Government would be a lot smaller than it is today but sadly this has not been the case. The notion that the U.S. Constitution is a living document has been used to justify ignoring part of it while insisting that things are there that are not. A classic example of this is abortion. The Supreme Court decision that forced abortion down the throats of all 50 states was based on nothing in the U.S. Constitution actually violates the fifth Amendment which for bids the Government from depriving a person of life without due process of law. Supreme Court decision should be based on the original intent of that section of the Constitution and not manipulated to mean what ever the judge wants it to mean.

Why Mitt Romney is the Worst Possible GOP Nominee

The reason why Mitt Romney would be the worst possible GOP nominee in 2012 is that he is the most likely to looses to Barack Obama. There are several reasons why this is the case.

The first reason is that because he is not a real conservative the conservative bases we not be excited with the only reason to vote for him being to get rid of Obama. That may not be enough motivation to get enough out to the polls or actively campaign on his behalf. A depressed GOP voter base was one of the contributing factors to Obama victory in 2008. Furthermore a significant part of the GOP voter base has indicated that they simply can not vote for Romney because he is not a real conservative.   

There are some people who will not vote for Romney just because he is a Mormon. Mormons believe a lot of things that spook some people and this would reduce the percentage of the GOP voter base and even some independents that would actually vote for him.

Finally as Governor of Massachusetts Mitt Romney he signed into law a bill that was used as a template for Obama Care. On these bases there is an even larger portion of the GOP voter base will not vote for him.

Mitt Romney is the only GOP Presidential candidate that people are saying they can’t vote for him.

Presidential Candidate Herman Cain’s 999 Economic Plan

The essence of the 999 plan is to scrap the current tax code and replace it with a simpler system that removes most of the excess expenses of complying with the current code. It replaces all current taxes with simpler flat tax system of a 9% Business income tax, individual income tax and sales tax.

The 9% Business tax deducts purchases capital investments and exports. The 9% individual income tax has a deduction for charitable donations. Further more both of these have additional deductions for opportunity zones, which also has the effect of reducing individual income tax for those in poverty to zero.

This would relieve most of the burden of complying with the current tax code and as such it would be a huge boost to the economy. The resulting increase in economic activity would create millions of jobs and actually increase Federal revenue over the current system. It is a bold plan that would reveres the economic downturn of the last three years. The result would that the economy would bounce back like never before with more people working and keeping more of what they earn the economy would take off and thrive once again.

Proof that Mitt Romney is not a Conservative.

The darling of the GOP establishment Mitt Romney, despite claims that he’s a conservative is clearly not conservative.  This should be obvious to any one that is paying attention to the presidential campaign.

The fact that Mitt Romney got elected Governor of Massachusetts is not a real conservative is. These are the same people that kept electing Ted Kennedy as Senator until his death. The fact is that a real conservative can’t get elected to dogcatcher in Massachusetts let alone Governor.

The Massachusetts health care law that has come to be called Romney Care is solid proof that Romney is not a conservative. This plane was with its individual mandate was used as a model for Obama Care. This type mandate shows a statist mindset that sees the state as master of citizen surfs. It based on the elitist idea that the government knows better how to run your life than you do. As a result Mitt Romney can not be a conservative.

The Hunt for Barack Obama’s Birth Certificate.

During the 2008 presidential Election rumors surfaced that Barack Obama had actually been born in Kenya making him constitutionally unqualified to be president. This started a movement among some of Obama’s opponents to push the issue; they have come to be called birthers. The issue is important because if Obama really was born in Kenya he needs to be removed from office.

Obama’s response was to release a copy of a short form Certificate of Live Birth which while it has proven authentic actually proves nothing about Obama’s place of birth because obtaining one does not require showing the birth occurred in Hawaii. This started the call that Obama provide a long form birth certificate which would prove he was born in Hawaii but he did not. The issue should have been settled when congress counted the electoral votes in January of 2009 by congress demanding that Obama provide his long form birth certificate before they certified the election but they never did.

After this several law suits were filed to force the release of Obama’s his long form birth certificate but the white house fought every one of them getting them dismissed for lack of a standing. When a shoulder being deployed to Afghanistan questioned the lawfulness of Obama’s orders he court marshaled with out being allowed to raise the issue in his defense. Being unable to defend himself since his defense was disallowed he was naturally convicted and spending time in a military prison he was dishonorably discharged. As a result all courts have refused to hear any case on this issue and Obama fought all efforts to have it reviewed in court even to the point of ruining people to protect it.

Another way the truth could be found was to check Obama’s mother’s passport records to see if she had been in the U.S. or Kenya at the time of Obama’s birth. That would have settled the issue once and for all but when a Freedom of information act request was filed to get those records they were told that here records had been destroyed.

Eventually several states started perusing laws that would requires some one running for president to present a birth certificate to prove they were qualified to be president. Obama’s first response was to challenge the first such law but then eventually released the long awaited long form birth certificate.  While it has the intended affect of stifling the passage of laws requires some one running for president to present a birth certificate it did not end the issue.

The long form birth certificate has been examined and there are question about it that suggest that it is fake. One is that the certificate was clearly digitally inserted on the back ground as is evident by the white surrounding the letters. The second “1” in the certificate’s number is clearly inserted and not part of the original number. Questions have also been raised about the number it self by comparing it to numbers from other people born on the same island at about the same time. One other issue is that Obama’s father’s race is listed as African which would not have been used in 1961. In 1961 Obama’s father’s race would have been listed as Negro. This looks like a mistake that would be made by a politically correct forger. 

What makes this even worst is that it is such an obvious fake that it could only be more obvious if they had place Fake Birth Certificate at the top. This raises the issue of why? There are two possibilities both of which are disturbing. One is that Obama was born in Kenya and is perpetrating a humongous fraud and is arrogant enough to think he get away with such an obvious forgery. The second is the Obama was born in Hawaii and is deliberately keeping this issue alive by needlessly playing games in hopes of distracting opponents.

In my opinion the truth is the second option. The main reason is that it is the best explanation that explains the facts. This is particularly the fact that the released long form birth certificate is such an obvious fraud that it must have been intended to be discovered so as to perpetuate the myth as a distraction.

The sad thing is that the truth will never really be known because those with the authority to find the answers have refused to look investigate and find them.

2012 Presidential Election and Presidential Experience

Some of the criticism a levied against Herman Cain is that he has not political experience and that his lack of such experience would make him a bad president and that we should elect a former Governor such as Mitt, Romney.

A false comparison is made with Barack Obama blaming his poor performance on the economy and other issues as being a result of his lack of executive experience. First of all Obama poor performance is more his ideology that pushed for job killing acts like Obama care and repeated stimulus while threatening job producers with increased taxes and regulations.

Furthermore Herman Cain has plenty of executive experience in the real world of business where he brought Godfather’s Pizza back from the brink of bankruptcy. His lack of political experience could be a benefit since he will go to the White House not knowing what can’t be done and it’s amazing what on can accomplish when one doesn’t know what one can’t do.

The Reasons Obama care is Unconstitutional

Challenges to Obama care have now reached the U.S. Supreme Court and it needs to be struck down because it is an unconstitutional power grab of unprecedented proportions over every aspect of the lives of the American people. The unconstitutional nature of Obama care stands on two main points.

The first problem is that the act was passed in violation of Article 1 Section 2 of the Constitution which says that all bills that produce revenue have to start in the house; however the bill that congress actually passed originated in the Senate and was passed unchanged by the House. This was done to prevent the bill being killed by a filibuster in the senate that would have resulted if they tried to put it through the senate again. However since Obama care has taxes in it, it is there fore a revenue act and had to start in the House but it did not and therefore is unconstitutional.

The second problem is the individual mandate that requires individual citizens to purchase Government approved health insurance. This is unconstitutional because of the fact that the Federal Government simply has no such authority to force people to by a product. The excuse given is the commerce clause which is already the most abused section of the constitution. Every previous claim of power under the commerce clause is based on a person taking action to engage in commerce. On the other hand under Obama care the Federal Government is now making an unprecedented claim of authority over not engaging in commerce by claiming that inaction is action. This is a fallacious claim that can not be allowed to stand since if allowed to stand it would literally give the Federal Government control over every aspect of the lives of every American. They are declaring the authority to dictate how every American spends the fruits of their own labor effectively reducing all of us to a state of forced servitude and slavery which is also a violation of the 13 Amendment.

Obama care is the biggest power grab in the history of the United States it is blatantly unconstitutional and if it is not stopped in will destroy and ready weak economy.

The Wealth Redistribution Myth

Social justice, economic justice or wealth redistribution what ever term is useed the idea is the same. The myth is that through taxes the Government takes the wealth of the rich and redistributes that wealth to the poor to raise them out of poverty.

 
The idea of wealth redistribution is based on two false assumptions. 
  • The total amount of wealth in the world is constant. One of the results of this assumption is the notion that becoming wealthy automatically means others become poor as a result.
  • The rich just sit on their wealth such that it does nothing but make themselves comfortable.
The  reality is that the total amount of wealth is not constant because  the labor to turn raw materials into a product creates wealth that did not exist before. Furthermore since the people supplying that labor are paid they share in the wealth produced by their labor. Furthermore the rich do not just sit on their wealth leaving it in bins of money that they swim around in, they use it to buy things made by others and they invest it in one or more businesses thus providing work for others providing them with wealth they would not otherwise have.
 
Not only are these assumptions wrong but in practice most of the wealth taken in the name of wealth redistribution actually goes to those running the redistribution programs what portion the poor actually is just enough to keep them dependent on the system. If you doubt this look at the size of the salaries of bureaucrats some time. 
 
The final blow to this myth comes from look at the automate expression of the idea of wealth redistribution. If you took a population of people and confiscated all material wealth and then redistributed it equally to every one in area so that they all had an equal amount. If you then gave them the freedom to use it as they pleased with in a few years there would once again rich and poor they would not necessarily be the same people as before but the difference would still occur. This is the case because not every one would use their resources the same way. Some would blow their resources all on products the other would produce with their resources.

This is because material wealth is not the only form of wealth and no government can take away immaterial wealth. Every person as different abilities and they are a form immaterial wealth that one way or other can be used to acquire material wealth. The key is that we all have immaterial wealth and how we use that immaterial wealth often means more than what material wealth we start out with.

What is important is having the freedom to use your immaterial wealth to its greatest potential. If that freedom is taken away then that immaterial wealth gets wasted. Efforts to redistribute material wealth by force only encourage the squandering of peoples immaterial wealth making them poorer.

Reasons why Barack Obama Should not be Reelected.

Here are then reasons why president Obama should not be reelected president.. Theyl have had a negative effect on the U. S. economy.

Obama continues to block deep water drilling permits in the Golf Mexico while at the same time aiding countries like Brazil to drill there. This along with other hindrances to oil drilling in the U.S. has kept gasoline prices high and caused the loss of many jobs.

Obama Care has not only caused an increase in health insurance premiums but it is also one of the biggest job killers there is. Business owners have indicated repeatedly that the uncertainties in future expenses created by Obama Care are a major reason for them not hiring.

The so called finance reform act passed by Obama and the Democrats has raised some of the costs of banks doing business which has been passed on to costumers and hampered lending.

Obama has in made a general increased regulations stifle businesses in more ways than can be counted including forcing others out of business.

Unable to get Cap and Trade passed Congress Obama has bypassed congress by having the EPA regulate Carbon dioxide as a Pollutant. This will inevitably send energy prices though the roof. Obama admitted himself this while running for president when he said that “Energy prices would necessarily sky rocket.” This will harm an already weak economy.

Obama has repeatedly pushed to bailout failing big corporations and there by preventing the correction that would have brought the economy back by now if nothing had been done.

Crony Capitalism where by the Government artificially props up favors companies that can’t survive in the free market. This actually putts other companies at an artificial disadvantage.

Obama is now treating job creators with tax increases through class warfare thus retarding job creation. This is a major part of Obama’s so called jobs bill.

Obama continues to push excessive government spending resulting from the previous eight issues sending the federal deficit and debt through the roof.

The Importance of Being an Independent Thinker

It is important to be an independent thinker. That means thinking for your self. It does not mean you believe or think a certain way, in fact it means the exact opposite. The key to being an independent thinker is knowing why you believe what you believe and not believing something just because some one in authority told you to believe it. It means checking out what you are told and rather than just absorbing it like a sponge.

Contrary to some claims being an independent thinker does not necessarily mean abandoning one’s faith particularly with Christianity which is based on an individual relationship with God. It may be a problem for some churches or denominations but not for the Christian faith itself.

Independent thinking is hard work since it requires checking out and thinking about what you hear. However the rewards are worth the effort since it is easier to defend a position that you have thought through and know why you think it’s correct as opposed to that’s what I was taught.

Freedom of thought is the freest right that exists since it transcends physical freedom and circumstances. It is the one right that even the most tyrannical of dictators can not take away by force but has to be surrendered voluntarily. You can be chained in the darkest of dungeons and still be totally free inside your own mind.

Proof that Occupy Wall Street is not spontaneous

It turns out that Occupy Wall Street has a public relations firm called Fenton Communications that has partnered with George Soros-funded Tides Foundation to push this protest. In case you don’t know George Soros is a hedge fund billion air that has made much of his fortune destroying national currencies for personal profit. The founder of Fenton Communications also has connection to president Obama. This shows that Occupy Wall Street is hardly a spontaneous event.

A Look at the Idea of a One World Government

While a One World Government is not necessarily evil or even a bad thing after all according to the when Jesus Christ returns He will set a One World Government under His rule resulting in a 1000 year golden age. A One World Government established as a republic under the principles of individual liberty and individual rights would likely result in an unprecedented level of individual and global wealth and prosperity but there is almost no chance that any One World Government actually established would be based on such principles. There are essentially five ways that a One World Government could come into existence.

1. Through global communication the differences between notations fades making it possible for the people of the world to work together establish a One World Government based on generally agreed to principles. This possibility has the best chance of producing a positive  global government, but it also has the least chance of actually occurring since any such effort would be quickly taken over by the existing power elite and manipulated to their benefit at the expense of every one else.

2. Global conquest by a megalomaniacal dictator. While not an impossibility it is highly unlikely that such an attempt would succeed unless he was supported by the existing power elite.

3. Some major disaster occurs that force the world together for survival. This is unlikely unless a plan is already in place or a potential megalomaniacal dictator is ready to seize power.

4. The existing power elite put together a plan for a One World Government behind closed doors that is set up for their own benefit at the expense of every one else and implemented so slowly that by the time any one out side power elite knows anything has happened the deal is done. This has a high probability of occurring and could at least theoretically be world we live in.

5. A combination of the above where the existing power elite put together a plan for a One World Government behind closed doors that is set up for their own benefit at the expense of every one else. They then manipulate world opinions to favor any presented version of the plan. They would then implement this plan by way of a massive global crisis that is ether real or manufactured. At which time they may even install a puppet dictator to make control easier. This is by far the most likely way that a global government would come into place, and it is also the worst and most dangerous form of a global government.

Governor Perdue, of North Carolina Suggests Suspending 2012 Elections

While speaking recently at the Cary Rotary Club Democrat North Carolina Gov. Beverly Perdue, suggested suspending congressional elections for two years to allow Congress can focus on economic recovery rather than the next election.

This notion besides being a violation of the governor’s oath of office to up hold the Constitution would not legally work the way she implied.

First of all elections are run by the individual states and not the Federal Government and there is no way to enforce a federal suspension of elections. The only way they could try would be to send armed troops and shoot any one who tries to vote or operate the poles.

Let’s say they some how succeeded in stopping the elections then the Constitution still makes what her proposal illegal. According to the 20th Amendment U.S. Constitution the terms of all current house members and 1/3 of the senate end January 3 2013 period. If this dies not change if the election does not occur their offices would simply be vacant. Furthermore Obama’s term as President ends at noon on January 20th 2013 with or with out an election. Therefore without an election Obama would no longer be president as of noon on January 20th 2013. The only legal way a new president could be selected would be for the remaining 2/3 of the senate to elect a new vice president who in the absence of a newly elected president the new vice president would be come President on noon on January 20th 2013. That 2/3 of the senate would be mostly Republicans and so the new President would be a Republican.

The result is that there is no legal way for a federal suspension of congressional elections would produce the results described by Governor Perdue. It would take a conspiracy of unprecedented proportions to pull off such a stunt, with governments of 50 states going along with it. The result of which would be that there would no longer be a legally constituted federal government and any action take by it would be null and void.

Labor Unions and the Right to Work

 In some states once a business in unionized the union is allowed to force membership in the union as a condition of employment. Furthermore when union dues are deducted from an employees pay check a dissatisfied union worker has no recourse if his graveness are not addressed by the Union. He may find himself held hostage to an organization he is forced to associate with just to earn a living.

Allowing unions to force membership as a condition of employment results in the infringement of an individual’s right to work and negotiate his own pay for his work. Don’t get wrong if workers want to bargain collectively they have every right to do so, but forced participation is wrong,

The Scourge of Socialism

Socialism is the economic system where the means of production is owned and controlled by government. Socialism is of necessity is a form of slavery since the individual can not be allowed to pursue his own interests.  By definition if the individual is not given the freedom to pursue his own interests he own and controls the means perusing that interest.  So the individual must be compelled to follow the interests of the state which is by definition a form of slavery.

The theory behind socialism is that there is a fixed amount of wealth and that reason some people are rich and others are poor is that the rich have taken from the poor what is rightfully theirs. So the remedy is to take from the rich and redistribute it to the poor called social justice. Since the rich do not automatically give away all their wealth the government takes it by force to redistribute. This appalling to those those consider them selves poor because they led to believe that it will make their lives better.

The reality is that the total amount of wreath is not constant and that it is created by the labor and productivity of people. If people are not allowed to profit from their labor and can get the same results of not putting out the effort there is not incentive to be productive and the means of producing wealth is destroyed. So the more socialistic an economy becomes in time the poorer it becomes.

In practice socialism never evenly redistributes with the people in the government enriching themselves and their friends at the expense of the general population. As a result getting ahead in a socialistic system requires being able to get politically connected and learning how to work the system. To see the truth of this look at any communist (totally socialistic) country they all show the same pattern of a rich dictatorial elite ruling over an impoverished population. As a result socialism works great for those that run the system or know how to game the system but not for the average person. Sadly we are beginning to this in the United States.

Productivity Needed Rather Than Jobs

Unemployment is over 9% so there is a lot of talk about jobs. President Obama went so far as to give a speech before congress about his so called jobs plan. Despite all the talk the real problem is not so much a lake of jobs but lack productivity. The people know only one way to be productive and that is to get a job working for some else. However there is another option. Sadly this option is not be promoted by government officials and agencies. Even worst many government officials at all levels are actively attacking this option. Further more your local unemployment office will neither encourage or giving you credit for this option. It is an option they will never mention. Following this option may even bring you criticism from friends and family. That option is to go to work for yourself.
For some treason Governments are actively attacking working for yourself.  On the local level by business licenses which are a tax on projected earnings. Municipal governments have in some cases gone as far as to shutdown children’s lemonade stands for not having a business licenses. On the federal level Obama has attacked working for yourself with regulations and threatened tax increases if you succeed.

In some cases these attacks result from politicians that want as many people a possible dependent on them for their need and working for yourself breeds independence. In other cases it making sure big business supporters have ample desperate workers. Whatever the reason the result is a lot of untapped potential productivity among people and the additional jobs created by those would need help.

Now I grant you that not every one has what it takes to work for them selves but the number that has what it takes is much greater than the number of people who actually do it. Part of the problem is that when just starting out working for yourself means lots of work with little if any income for the effort.

The best way to start working for yourself is to find something you really love to do and find a way to get paid for it. That may sound unreasonable simple but it is the only thing that gets you through the period of lots of work and no pay.  If you have a hobby find a way to do make money and you are off to a good start working for yourself .

On Science Education

A basic knowledge of science is needed if you are going to understand the world around us and since science affects most aspect of life so some knowledge of it is needed to get along. It helps students with an interest in science to pursue a scientific career by helping them discover that interest.
In  science education many pre collage science classes are taught by teachers who did not major or minor in math or science so as a result classes are often of low quality a often uninteresting.  As a result children are often thought only facts and theory and are often not taught how to actually do science. They usually are not taught how to critically evaluate scientific claims.

Even worst some times political agendas get in the way of teaching science, a good example is the teaching of man caused global warming without presenting the other side except in ridicule. Furthermore science and other topics are usually taught in a way that encourages conformity which can a actually discourage independent thinking. As a result many people can not think out side the box of what they were taught and it is the independent thinkers and that tend make the great discoveries.

This shows up big time in the way origin is taught in public school science class. Big bang to man Evolution is taught as fact. Efforts to change this to date have been blocked by the courts. Big bang to man Evolution is further pushed by TV programs and other media were in most cases if Creation Science or Intelligent Design are mention all it is in ridicule. As a result people are bombarded by Big bang to man Evolution giving them the impression that it is proven fact despite scientific reasons for questioning it. As a result some people develop a condescending attitude towards Creation Science while actually being ignorant of it, producing an arrogant ignorance that makes an intelligent discussion impossible

The Problem of Politicized Science

The politicization of Science is what happens when politics interferes with scientific enquiry for the purpose of political gain. This often takes the form of support for one side over the other in a scientific dispute.
When ever a particular theory is pushed for political gain the scientific process gets corrupted. The side being supported will get lots of funding while the other struggles encouraging researchers to backup the supported theory or risk loosing funding. The result is that the supported theory is given the appearance of being overwhelmingly supported by the evidence, even if it is not. Furthermore support or opposition for the theory becomes based more on politics than science. The result is that it becomes hard to find the truth, because no one is unbiased

The worst example of the politicization of Science is of Man caused Global Warming  theory, which is favored by politicians who see it as an excuse for increased government control. More conservative politicians tend to oppose this idea of global warming because of the associated big government political agenda associated with it.

However there is not only scientific against man caused global warming but the entire global warming theory as well. There evidence also indicates that the solutions being pushed by global warming proponents are the worst way to dale with it even if their science is right.

The point is that the politicization of global warming has greatly hampered the scientific process by hiding and distorting facts making it hard to find the truth. This is bad for and destructive to science. As a result when ever science is politicized the process of science is damaged.

The Myth of Separation of Church and State

The 1St Amendment of the U.S. Constitution
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

 The relevant part is, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof”.

Note that despite the fact that the tem “separation of church and state” is often used in association with first amendment that it does not appear any ware within it. The phase is a actually based on a letter that Thomas Jefferson wrote to a Baptist church addressing their concerns of about the possibility of a state religion being established in the U.S. like the Church of England in Britain.

There are those that want to eliminate all public religious observances and references. They try to use the establishment clause to achieve their goal.

The clause in question called says, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion”. What is meant by this is that there is to be no legally established official religion of the United States like the  Church of England in Britain. In essence the idea is that the United States government and by way of the 14th Amendment the state and local governments must legally and officially be neutral on religion.

However these people are not trying to force government neutrality on religion but hostility. This rakes many forms but they include many violations of the free exercise clause which immediately follows the establishment clause and states “or prohibiting the free exercise thereof” referring to religion. Include a public high school valedictorian being threatened with jail by a judge if she mentioned God or prayed in her speech. This also violates the next clause in the 1St Amendment which states “or abridging the freedom of speech”

What these people are actually trying to do is legally (by judges) establish the atheistic religion of Secular Humanism as the official state religion because if you ban references to God and religions observances from public functions in you are declaring the official government religion to be Atheistic Secular Humanism.

The Trouble With Government Grants

Money or other items of value given by a government to non-government individual or group to enable their activities are called a government grant.

Funding of science by way of government has produced many good results but it has also politicized science and the politicization of science is harmfulto the scientific process. It provides a source of funding for research making it easier for research to be funded allowing some research to be done that probably could not get funded other wise.

Sadly science has become too dependent on government grants to the point where 90% of scientific research is funded by government. Getting funding from a given source requires that you appease that source. Getting government funding requires appeasing government officials. While grant requests are peer reviewed but the money altimetry comes from politicians which has a chilling affect on science since some areas of research are funded while others are not. About 1 in 10 unsolicited grant applications are approved so some legitimate research is rejected. Furthermore some paradigms are favored by government over competing ones.  For example research in to manned caused global warming gets funded while opposing research does not get funded.

The reason for this is that politics is about acquiring and holding on to power not knowledge and as a result politicians are often not really interested is the science but sending money to their districts and pushing a political agenda.

Science needs to reduce its dependence on government funding. Priority needs to be given to private funding which can take several forms, foundations, universities, and other nonprofit organizations and for profit organizations while these are already used to some degree, private funding should be encouraged more. It is less corrupting because there is more than one source of funding. This does not mean that Government funding should be eliminated just reduced. Science should be as independent of government as possible to reduce these problems.

Remembering 9/11 May We Never Forget

On 9-11-2003 the United States was attacked by Jihad Jihadist Terrorists who hijack four commercial air liners to fly them into both World Trade Towers and the Pentagon.

The tenth anniversary of this attack is here and we need to remember those who died that day. We also need to remember the heroes of that day. There were several fire fighters trying to save others. We especially should remember the hero’s of United flight 93; such as Todd Beamer. These people learning of the other attacks got together and try to take back their plane, crashing it in the ground and stopping the hijacker from carrying out their mission.

Deficit Super Committee, the Disenfranchisement of the American People

The Deficit Super Committee created by the deal that needlessly raised the debt limit sets a dangerous precedent. Under this deal this committee of 3 Democrats from the House, 3 Republicans from the House, 3 Democrats Senators, and 3 Republicans Senators was an established to write a bill cutting 1.5 trillion the deficit. The House and Senate then vote “yes” or “no” vote with no amendments allowed with both the military and social programs like social security automatically being targeted for the cuts if the vote is no.
The empowerment of just 12 members of congress to write this bill and not allowing amendments means that the vast majority of Americans have NO representation on this committee and then our representatives are forced to choose between two bad choices.

Now increasing taxes is an option that this committee has and it will likely be used thus since most member of congress have no say in the matter other than a coerced vote. The net effect if taxes are raised by this process is taxation with out representation.

This nothing short of the disenfranchisement of the majority of the American people, we are being deprived of any real say in this process. Even worst the committee is meeting behind closed doors so that even those with representation on the committee can not hold them accountable for their actions because we will never be told what they are. The end result is the total disenfranchisement of the American people and a return of taxation with out representation.

Science and Politics

When ever science and politics interact science is usually the worst for it. This does not mean that all interactions between science and government are negative but the overall affect on science is negative.
 The Reason for this is that politics is about acquiring and holding on to power and not knowledge. In fact politics often is destructive to knowledge since ignorant people are easier to control. Also politicians are often not really interested is the science but sending money to their districts or pushing some other agenda. The biggest example of this is manned space flight which has stagnated for 30 years under government control. 

Even worst government often favors some lines of research over others in funding, education, and recognition. Some times government favors one side in a scientific dispute over others. The best examples are in origins research and climate research.

Government can block lines of research from being perused. Now sometimes this legitimate such as preventing dangerous experimenting on humans, but other times it’s pandering to irrational fears such as those against nuclear power is a good example simply because some people can’t separate reactors from bombs. Giving in to this fear has hampered the development of nuclear power.

In climate research global warming has been favored by politicians who see it as an avenue for increased government control. They have backed and promoted pro global warming claims over data to the contrary despite emails showing the hiding of climate data contrary to Global warming. This issue has become so politicized that finding the truth is hard because it is almost impossible to find an objective source on the topic.

In origins research only evolutionary research funded the government. Both Intelligent design and Creation Science gets no government funding, but they are forced to fund evolutionary research with their taxes. Intelligent design and Creation Science have been kept out of public schools on the claim that they are not science this has even been enforced by law suits whenever local education officials disagree with the claim. There is nothing more grossly anti-scientific than bringing law suits to settle scientific issues by having a judge (lawyer) decree the opposing views are not science. Regardless of your view on origins, this should disturb you.

Politics and Global Warming

Proponents of global warming claim that the Earth temperature is rising out of control due to human industrial activity. The difficulty in studying this area is that politics is interfering with the science. Liberals tend to support the claims and use them to attack our capitalist economic system, while conservatives tend to discount the claims in defense of our capitalist economic system. The politics of this issue makes getting unbiased information difficult.

In any discussion about global warming there the questions that need to be answered.
  1. Is the Earth actually warming or not?
  2. If it is what is causes. Is it man caused or natural?
  3. If it is man caused what it’s the best way deal with it?

The "Medieval Warm Period" lasted from 700 to 1300 AD. During this time the Vikings sailed the North Atlantic without ice burgs. They colonized Greenland and named such because it was green at the time. Greenland froze over during later cooling trends. During this warn period average global temperatures were 1-2° warmer than today.

This warm period was followed by the "Sporer Minimum" which was a cool period that lasted from 1300 to 1500 AD. This was in turn followed by a brief climatic warming from 1500 to 1560 AD.

Then came the "Little Ice Age" which occurred between 1560 and 1830 AD. During this time average global temperatures were about 1 degrees cooler than today. Then there was a brief warmer period from 1830 to 1870 AD and a brief cool period from 1870 to 1910 AD. Finally, we have the 20th century warming period which started in 1910 AD and continues through the present.


In. a 1999 paper published in Geophysical Research Letters tree rings were used to assess temperature change back to 1000 AD. This data was then supplemented with other proxies from more recent centuries. It shows no sign of the Medieval Warm Period and Little Ice Age, while showing a dramatic seemingly going out of control climate during the 20th century. This research is flawed both scientifically and statistically. The biggest problem is that of combining two totally different sets of data. The two sets of data; temperature and tree rings. They cannot be credibly combined into one data set.

Tree rings are a very poor indication of temperature, because they usually only grow the summer and they are affected by factors unrelated to temperature. By the way, the yellow area is the margin of error.

The first model seems to better represent global climate. It agrees with sun spot activity as measured sense 1600 as shown by the fact that the "Maunder Minimum" occurred at the same time as the "Little Ice Age". Sun spot activity translates into a measure of the variation into overall solar out put; including U.V. which affects the ozone layer. The 2000-2003 Solar Max should be noted here. This is the peek of the 11 years cycle of sun spot activity. It was the most active Solar Max ever observed and it coincides with current warming trend.

Mars provides additional evidence that the current warming trend is caused by the sun, because it too is experiencing global warming. None of the probes we have landed there burn fossil fuels. They are all solar or nuclear powered, so we can not be the cause. The most likely cause of global warming on two planets is the sun.

Further more the models used to make prediction about future global temperatures are based on erroneous assumptions such as increased clouds increases global warming an assumption proven wrong on every cloudy day by the easily observable fact that when clouds block the sun the temperature goes down. They also assume that when the Earth temperature goes up it radiates less heat in to space which violates the lays of thermodynamics.   

Finally it turns out that even if all of the claims made by global warming proponents and their models are correct, the solutions they are proposing in many cases are worst options available in that they are extremity expensive for little benefits in return. So as a result global warming proponents are pushing for extremely expensive policies to solve a problem that do not exist.

In addition analyzing e-mail from the Climate Research Unit of the University of East Anglia found by hackers that showed they manipulating the evidence, peer review and other parts of the scientific process. Known a climategate this shows how politicized science is bad science. It is interesting to note that politicians and new media supportive of global warming have tried to down play the significance of the contents of these emails.
The point is that global warming, climate change or what ever new term they invent in the future, is a purely political issue and not a really scientific one. Science is only involved because it is being manipulated for political purposes.

Dealing with Capitalism’s Dark Side

The are several ways capitalism’s dark side can be managed. They are government regulation, and fostering a moral business climate.
Government regulation is one way of dealing with business excesses, but the down side is that government regulations ten to grow. Also there always the danger of a developing cronyism where big, rich companies get the government to cause regulatory harm to their smaller competition. There is also the danger of politicians fostering regulations to help gain favor among certain voting blocks. Government regulations do serve as a legitimate check business excesses as long as they are few and small; the danger is the tendency for them to become many, big and destructive.

The best solution, though not necessarily the easiest to achieve is fostering a moral business climate. If the businesses in a given area have a strong sense of morality toward how they treat, employees, customers, and other business then little or no government regulation is need,

In practice minimal helpful government regulations that help smooth relationships; rather than complicate them; along with a moral business climate is most work able solution.

Dark Side of Capitalism


Sadly capitalism does have its danger. The problem is that the honest pursuit of profit in business can be over taken by greed. When this happens the results can be as bad as any totalitarian system, this takes two main form exploitation and cronyism.



Exploitation occurs when the owner and managers of a business stop seeing employees as people and starts seeing them only as resources to be used. This can take the form of unreasonably low wages with long hours and us safe working condition. The presents of any of these three in a job dose not exploitation make. A job may have low wages simply because the job is not worth much. Long hours are a necessity of many well paying jobs, and some work like mining is inherently dangerous. However it is combination of all three that add up to exploitation



The worst form of exploitation is the sweet shop where all three exist in abundance. Furthermore in the case of sweet shops workers are housed in company dormitories and forced to by necessities from an over priced company store. This condition reduces the workers to little more than slaves.





Cronyism is where business and government become closely related to the point where a business can use the government against competitors. This occurs when a prosperous business starts giving money to candidates for elected office to get favors in return. These favors some time take the form of favoritism in getting government contracts. However these favors often take the form of government regulation that helps put the favored business’ competition out of business or at least make it harder for them to compete.



The worst form of cronyism is a big business being bailed out by the government; while there smaller competitors are allowed to go out of business. This even worst when as in the case of the 2008 economic collapse the companies that got bailed out are the same companies that caused the problem to begin with.





While capitalism is not with out its problems it is still the best and freest economic system there is. With capitalism is the largest possible portion of a population can become prosperous. The United State is prime example of this where even in economic bad times the poorest among us are still among the richest people in the world.

An Introduction to Capitalism

Capitalism is also called the free market is defined as the economic system where the means of production is in private hands. The idea is that you are free to market your goods and services on the open market. Even in trying to find a job you are offering you skills, talent and labor on the open market.
Capitalism is the natural result of freedom. It is the economic system results from people being free to choose their own course in life as opposed to being forced down a path by the government, religion or other governing entity.

While capitalism comes with no guarantees, the potential rewards are endless. Under capitalism you are not forced to stay in your current employment but can seek other employment or strike out on your own and start you own business.  In a pure capitalist system there is nothing but your own personal limitation; most of which are self induced; to hold you back. Put simply the only thing standing in the way you own prosperity is yourself. Even the richest person around can’t stand in your way unless you let him.

If you look to some one else to give you prosperity you will be disappointed regardless of the economic system. So capitalism is the system in which the most people are prosperous. You can actually succeed because of what you know and can do rather than who you know.

Reduced to its simplest terms capitalism equals freedom, and any other system is a form and degree of slavery.

Natural Rights

The U.S. Declaration of Independence says:
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

This the Declaration of Independence’s statement of natural rights, including Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. This original list also includes property; it was left out of the Declaration of Independence to avoid sounding materialistic.

The concept of Natural Rights presupposes that man kind was created by God. The pushing of Evolution theory while attacking Biblical Creation has brought this concept of Natural Rights under attack. If we were not created there is no Creator to endow us with Natural Rights. If we were created the only rights we have come from government and can be taken away from us at the whim of that government.

As a result is no surprise that the growth of Evolution has been followed by a corresponding increase in the power and size Government.

Taxes, they are Taxing.

Taxes are necessary evil for funding government, but not all taxes a created equal. There are more types of taxes than can be mentioned here but  three types of taxes are particularly immoral because of degree of control they give over the citizens of the nation. Sadly America has all three in place and entrenched.
Here is a list of the three most immoral taxes in no particular order.

  1. Estate taxes. Also called the “death tax” this is a tax on a person’s net worth at death over a million dollars. This immoral because is prevents people from passing on the fruits of the labor to the children because the Government confiscates half it. What makes it worst is that this is not cash on hand but total net worth. There plenty small business owners and farmers who have under $100,000 annual incomes, but land or business assets that put them over the top. In many cases the family of the deceased is force to cell the land or business even if it’s their only source of income just to pay the death tax. What makes it even worst is that the real rich can avoid the death tax all together by putting their assets in to family trust funds.
  2. Property taxes. This tax is immoral when applied to a person’s home because in make their continuance in their home dependent on being able to pay the government a tax even if they have long since paid off any mortgage.
  3. Income tax. This tax is immoral because in makes you lively hood dependent on the Government not over taxing you. What make the U.S. income tax even more immoral is forced withholdings. By taking a person’s money before they even see it withholdings takes all control of paying the tax out of the hands of most tax payers making a revolt against even the most confiscatory rates. The only option the poor taxpayer has is to stop working. Even worse by deliberately taking more than what mast people owe in taxes, the average taxpayer is forced to give the Government an interest free loan every year that they then need to fill out a government form to get back.

The most moral form of taxation are consumption taxes particularly on non necessities. This is because taxpayer has total control over his or her taxes. As a result if a consumption tax people can punish the Government by reducing their consumption of goods.

While taxes are necessary evil, some forms of taxation are more evil than others.

What is the Purpose of Government?

The U.S. Declaration of Independence states:

So the purpose of Government is to secure our God given rights and not to take care of us or give us things. In practice this means providing legal protection to the individual from those that would take their life, liberty and property away, be they foreign Governments or local thugs. Basically this comes down to setting the rules so that people can live passably with each other.


The problem is that Government has a tendency to grow and when it gets to big the Government becomes the thugs people need protection from. In the U.S. today we are at that point where Governments at levels local, state, and Federal is becoming biggest threat to the life, liberty and property of the American people.

The Nature and Creation of Wealth


Wealth is often equated to money, but while money is a form of wealth it is not the only form of wealth. A person can have a huge income and because of how the spend it, have no wealth at all. A person can also have no income and because of what they have accumulated have a lot of wealth.



The best definition of wealth is the total amount of assets that a person has. By this definition most people a wealthier than they think, because true wealth includes such immaterial things such a person talents, knowledge and experience. In most cases these can be used to make money one way or another and so have financial value.



Contrary what some people think the total amount of wealth is not constant. It is created and destroyed all the time. However it not Government that creates wealth but individuals working to produces thing, both material and immaterial. Government can redistribute wealth, but they usually end destroying much of it in the process. Government can also destroy wealth by so regulating the means of producing as to reduce the amount of wealth created by a given amount of effort or reduce once profitable type’s efforts to worthlessness.

Since being nominated to be John McCain’s running mate in the 2008 presidential election, Sarah Palin has been attacked without mercy by liberals. They have not only attacked her but her entire family as well; including her down syndrome son. The reason is that she is seen as a serious contender for the GOP presidential nomination and a candidate that has a real chance of defeating Obama in 2012.  Simply put, liberals see her as a threat and so they seek to destroy her.


Without a doubt talk radio is a major force in opposition to Obama and his leftist policies. At first the liberal reaction was to bring back the so called fairness doctrine. The “fairness doctrine” requires a radio station to give free equal time to opposing views of those views expressed on the station deemed by the government as controversial. This requires so much time and expense that stations avoid any thing potentially controversial, such as conservative talk radio. Talk of the “fairness doctrine” immediately raised red flags and so liberals started talking about localism. Under localism the FCC would establish local comities populated by liberals that would be empowered to stop the renewal of radio station licenses that they felt was not acting in local public interest. The point is that both “fairness doctrine” and localism is that liberal what to silence their opposition on talk radio.

When liberal policies are proven not to work as advertised, liberals are never seen apologizing or trying to repeal the policy. Usually they just claim that more of the failed policy is need or that they need to take more of your money to fund it better. A prime example of this is in public education, where the more they fail the more money they demand.


A classic example of this is the fact that the Obama administration continues to blame Bush for state of the economy. Yes the recession started under bush but since Obama’s bailout package was passed it has gotten worst. Despite this Obama continues to blame Bush and does not accept any blame.

There are numerous examples of this. The most blatant of these is abortion, which has caused the murder of millions of human babies. Whenever liberals talk about tax increases they never seem to consider whether or not people can afford the extra taxes.

Obama has been trying to get a cap and trade bill through the U.S. congress. It would raise taxes on energy to the point of driving jobs out of the U.S. during the worst recession since the Great Depression. During a time when a lot of people are already hurting, any body who has even the most basic knowledge of economics can tell that such a tax increase would make things worst, but the liberals who pushing this bill don’t seem to care about such things.

Liberals simply do not care if other people want their idealized world and they are willing to force it down their throats if need be. Many of the liberal policies that exist in the U.S. are the result of law suits being brought by a few people to force unwanted change on a community.


Liberals have no problem with taking tax dollars from people to fund things  that those people consider morally wrong such as abortion. Those same people often need to spend more money to fight those things that they are forced to pay for with their taxes. Even worst liberals will raise  taxes forcing people to stop giving to those charities they would like to give to, to give more money to the organizations those charities are trying to fight.

Eight Facts About Liberalism: Fact 3

Liberals deal with problems by forcing change, usually through government, with no consideration of the causes of the problem.

I have chosen three examples of this fact. These are the economy, education, and health care. I chose these examples because virtually everyone agrees that they are problem areas.



Education

When the public schools in a given area are not providing a sufficient education the liberal solution is to spend more money, without ever looking into what the public schools are doing wrong.  The proof that the problem is not a lack of money is existence of private schools that consistently provided a better education than public schools in the same area, while spending less per student.



The Economy

The solution proposed by liberals for dealing with the current economic downturn has been to bailout large failing companies, without any concern for the policies and regulations that caused the problem to begin with.


Health Care

Liberals have been pushing for socialized medicine (universal healthcare) for over 10 years. The excuse given is the expense of healthcare. Once again they are trying to force change by government dictate, without regard for why healthcare is so expensive.

One major factor in the cost of healthcare is the cost of malpractice insurance. In some cases the premiums exceed $100,000 a year, and yet there is no mention by President Obama or any other liberal politicians about dealing with the frivolous malpractice laws suits and the outrageously large settlements that cause the need for such huge premiums.

Another factor is the cost of getting new drugs on the market. These costs are incurred by having to deal with government regulation. Once again this issue is not even being addressed by the President or any one else supporting his plan.

The simple fact is that liberals do not talk by about why healthcare has gotten so expensive. They just insist that so called universal healthcare needs to be passed and passed before the 1000+ page bill can even be read.



Conclusion

These are just three examples of areas where liberals try to force solutions to problems without considering why the problem exists.  There are many other examples. To see the truth of this fact all one has to do listen to what liberals say or rather what they don’t say.
